Roles and responsibilities
- Assist in patient care by preparing patients for examination, taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
- Perform basic lab tests and EKGs, as well as prepare and administer medications and immunizations under the direction of a physician.
- Accurately record and maintain medical histories, updating patient information in real-time to provide the physician with the most up-to-date information.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and appointments, including arranging hospital admissions and laboratory services.
- Support physicians during medical examinations and minor procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following infection control guidelines, cleaning treatment rooms, and managing medical supplies inventory.
- Provide administrative support, such as answering phone calls, handling billing processes, and managing office correspondence.
- Stay updated on medical knowledge and practices by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining certification.
Required skills and qualifications
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1+ years in a medical office environment.
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records) and medical terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- If you have experience in primary care or are bilingual in English and Spanish, that's a big plus!
Salary range
We offer a highly competitive hourly wage ranging from $14.90 to $25.96, depending on experience, with additional performance bonuses and an annual bonus.
